Our History
RJC Evans & Co. was established in 1920 by the late RJC "Jack" Evans.
Jack Evans was a colourful character, admired by all those who knew him for his business acumen and riding skills alike. He thought nothing of stopping to compete in the odd steeplechase as he toured the State visiting clients and establishing new business.
For a short period, the firm was known as Evans and Giles, when Jack went into partnership with Ken Giles. However, the partnership broke up after the Second World War and Jack continued on his own until his son John and Colin Haydon joined the firm in the 1950's.
John, who headed the company for many years, has fond memories of his early days touring the country with his father and mentor. "Dad had a volatile nature, but his employees loved and respected him". He is still remembered to this day by his many clients.
Today, RJC Evans and Co. has continued its strong family traditions with John's sons Stephen and Andrew established as partners of the firm.
