Received a call from the “Tax Office”?

Increasingly, the Tax Office seem to be phoning taxpayers directly requesting information or requesting that the taxpayer takes further action. Unsurprisingly, scammers are doing the same thing.

If you answer an unexpected or unsolicited call from someone purporting to be from the Tax Office, advise them to contact your Tax Agent.  Do not provide them with any further information. If the call is legitimate, the Tax Office will have your Tax Agent’s contact details.
