Further to the information provided by Steven Marshall and Rob Lucas on behalf of the South Australian Government in response to the lockdown which has been expanded state-wide, please see information below regarding the support available:

  1. Business Support Package – Employing Businesses:

A business which meets all of the following conditions as at 12:01am on Tuesday 20th July 2021 is able to apply for a one-off emergency $3,000 emergency cash grant:

  • Be located within South Australia
  • Have and annual turnover of $75,000 or more and be registered for GST in either of the 2019/20 or 2020/21 financial years
  • Employ staff in South Australia
  • Have Australia-wide payroll of $10m or less in 2019/20
  • Have a valid Australian Business Number
  • Experienced a 30% turnover reduction compared to the previous week due to the restricted trading conditions
  1. Business Support Package – Non-Employing Businesses:

A business which meets all of the following conditions as at 12:01am on Tuesday 20th July 2021 is able to apply for a one-off emergency $1,000 emergency cash grant:

  • Be located within South Australia
  • Have and annual turnover of $75,000 or more and be registered for GST in either of the 2019/20 or 2020/21 financial years
  • Have a valid Australian Business Number
  • Experienced a 30% turnover reduction compared to the previous week due to the restricted trading conditions

Applications for the grant are expected to be open within the next two weeks, and will close on 30 September 2021.

The South Australian Government expects micro businesses (turnover less than $75,000) will also be eligible the Individual income support, however the Federal Government is yet to confirm this.

As per the following on Rob Lucas’ website:

“The Government has been advised, and is seeking to confirm with the Commonwealth Government, that the vast majority of microbusinesses not registered for GST will be eligible for the COVID-19 Disaster Payment of $600/$375 per seven-day period.”
